Building a better platform together
We don't do custom development in the traditional sense. But if your organisation is missing something in Ovatic, we're happy to think along with you. And what we build benefits all users.
From wish to feature
From idea to part of the platform, in three steps.
You share your wish
You're missing a feature, need an integration, or see an improvement. We always start with a conversation: does it fit within the platform? Is there more demand for it? What is the impact?
We build it together
If an addition fits Ovatic, we schedule the development. Customers can choose to sponsor part of the development, which means it gets realised sooner. We design, build and test.
Everyone benefits
What we build becomes part of the platform and available to all Ovatic users. We maintain it, keep it up to date, and it grows alongside the rest of the system.
What we do and don't do
We stick to our knitting — but within that we are flexible.
What we do
- New features based on community wishes
- Integrations with external systems (financial, websites, BI tools)
- Adjustments to existing functionality
- API extensions for specific use cases
- White-label options for partners
What we don't do
- Completely standalone applications with no relation to Ovatic
- One-off projects that we don't maintain afterwards
- Adjustments that worsen the platform for other users
Built at the request of the community
Much of what is standard today started as a wish from one customer.
Custom fields for WSOB reporting
Built at the request of libraries: extra custom fields in activity templates that automatically tag activities for WSOB reporting, without manual follow-up work.
Maccsbox & Film Depot connection
Built at the request of film houses, now available as standard for all customers with a cinema or film house package.
Museum card integration
Developed together with a museum, now a standard part of the Extended package for all museums.
muZIEum uses Ovatic as a reservation system both for selling individual tickets and for booking complex reservations for large groups. A real multitasker. Because our staff are both sighted and visually impaired, the accessibility of the system is very important to us. Ovatic is always willing to think along with us in finding solutions.

Your wish, everyone's benefit
Ovatic grows through the input of our users. Many of the features that are standard today started as a wish from one customer. By sponsoring development you don't just help yourself: you contribute to a better platform for the entire community.
And because we maintain it, you don't need to worry about updates or compatibility. It's not a standalone project that becomes outdated after a year — it's just Ovatic.
Do you have an idea or a wish?
We'd love to hear what you need. No obligations — we'll explore together whether it fits and what the possibilities are.
